Day 25 — Your day, in great detail

I woke up a very happy girl this morning.

Not usually a morning person, I was extra nice and chirpy to everyone, including my folks. I smiled while having my morning smoke (instead of sulking as usual), and my close mates at work were very sure they knew what I was smiling about. I just felt liberated this morning; I knew I had done something good, I had taken a big step of courage into the unknown and the outcome wasn’t half bad.

Hardly made it through much work today. I had my new favourite playlist on, and was talking to Tasha about boys in general. And The Rookie. My favourite colleague (and soul mate as I like to teasingly call him) was going to leave the company in a week (NO!!) so I rounded up some others to pool in money for a nice gift for him. I know him well enough to know what he likes.

The second half of the day was predominantly spent on getting a photoshoot done. It’s amazing how much you can get done with a few girls and a digital SLR. We are seriously camera whores. I would say that our purpose was met (apart from some redundant frames that involved unrelated poses and expressions). Accompanying the photoshoot was some very awesome 70s/80s music which I couldn’t resist but sing along to. I love Mambo.

I spent my final hour at work rushing some copy-editing and left the last few minutes to an online conversation with AD. By the time I left I was pretty late for my dinner meetup with Z.

A few emo moments to myself (I tend to get those random episodes when I think too much) and I slapped myself out of it before I met Z. A trip to a few designer boutiques - I dropped by Chanel and drooled over the 2.55 - and R called me to tell me about his funny job interview. (((: That was a highlight.

After finally getting my favourite colleague’s gift, Z and I scarfed our faces with some mediocre dinner and talked about horoscopes. I managed to convince him that there was some truth in them. We had smokes and I had a beer after, and we exchanged stories about less-than-legal thrills back in the day.

Then he gave me a ride back on his Vespa. I had loads of fun on that. It’s been a long time I’ve ridden on a motorbike. I haven’t even ridden on a Vespa before. It was awesome.

Got home, and as usual, plonked in front of my laptop for the usual chatfest for the rest of the night.

I will surely sleep a happy girl too, tonight. (:
